Faculty and staff must have an accommodation plan on file with the Faculty/Staff Disability Services. They should notify their departments to request interpreters for department meetings, employment needs, etc. The department in which the Deaf/ Hard of Hearing (HoH) individual is employed is responsible for submitting an interpreter request to the University Interpreter Coordinator.
Deaf/HoH faculty or staff who are attending an event sponsored by another UNL department should contact the University department sponsoring the event to request interpreting services. For best outcomes, 3 weeks notice preferred for most interpreting requests. Additional time is preferred for the performing arts.
All requests are initiated by using the On-Campus Requisition (OCR) process.
