CLASS NOTES ACCOMMODATIONS
Students who qualify for an accommodation of “Class Notes” receive notes using one of the following methods.
- Glean (notetaking software)
SSD provides Glean licenses to students needing access to classroom lectures and discussions. Glean uses an app downloaded on a student’s personal device (iPad, cell phone, laptop, etc.) which records the class as a high quality recording. The software allows the student to use the recording as a tool to organize and create meaningful notes. The Glean software works effectively with PowerPoints when faculty have them available. Glean website: https://www.glean.co - Peer notetaker
A classmate is recruited to provide class notes content either as a carbonless copy or as an email attachment. Notes are provided as a supplement to the classroom experience; they are not intended to replace regular classroom attendance or participation. - Access to PowerPoints prior to class
Students not using peer notetakers or Sonocent software may request access to instructor PowerPoints if the instructor is using PowerPoints but not posting them to Canvas prior to class. - Ability to audio record lectures
As part of an accommodation plan, a student may use a personal device (laptop, smart phone, tape recorder, Smartpen, etc.) to record lectures and discussions.
